Beach Information

Looking for pristine beaches to relax, revitalize, or frolic in the sun with friends and family? Then Ocean Grove is the place for you! The chance to just lie in the sun, get some summer reading done, or watch the kids play in the surf is a great release from the stress of everyday life. A walk or jog on the beach as the sun comes up over the Atlantic isn't bad, either. Summers are also filled with fun beach activities such as a sandcastle contest, biathlon, family movie nights, and much more!

Plus, dogs are allowed (on a leash) during the off-season, October 1st through May 1st.

Ocean Grove offers relief from the commercialism and noise of other New Jersey beaches. The charming downtown is only two short blocks from the boardwalk — convenient for a quick bite, early shopping, and your accommodations. Located in Monmouth County, this is a wonderful place to just enjoy the sand, sun, and waves. For the angler in the family, there is fishing in the area as well.

The beach will be open on weekends only from Memorial Day (May 28th) through Father’s Day (June 19th).

Beach Guidelines

Children 11 and under are admitted free and all minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

No refunds will be issued for lost badges or for inclement weather.

Beach wheelchairs are available for transportation purposes and do not require a reservation. These wheelchairs are located at the following entrances: Webb Ave., Embury Ave., Ocean Pathway, and Bath Ave. When using a wheelchair for transportation purposes, upon arrival, just let the attendant know that you are in need of a wheelchair. They will have a lifeguard or staff member push the individual needing the wheelchair down to the beach, and help transfer them into their personal beach chair. When you need to leave the beach, just let the lifeguards know, and they will make arrangements to use the wheelchair to help get the individual off the beach.

Additionally, we also have two wheelchairs that can be borrowed for the day. These wheelchairs are located at the beach office across from the pier at Embury Ave. These wheelchairs can be borrowed between 8am-5pm Monday-Saturday and 12pm-5pm on Sundays. If you would like to make arrangements to reserve a beach wheelchair for the day, please email
